Privacy policy
What EZTeam stores about you, why, who can see it, and how to get it removed.
1. Who is responsible
The data controller is the publisher of EZTeam, identified in the legal notice at the bottom of this page. For any question about your data, or to exercise your rights, write to contact@ezteam.gg.
EZTeam is a small independent project and has not appointed a Data Protection Officer: the contact above handles every request.
2. What we collect
- Your account: email address, nickname and password. The password is stored hashed, never in clear text.
- Your profile, all optional: first and last name, birthdate (only your age is ever shown), country, photo, bio, X / Twitch / YouTube handles, in-game roles, positions, favorite maps, ESEA seasons played and weekly availability.
- Linked accounts, if you link them: your FACEIT, Steam and Discord identifiers, your Discord username, and your FACEIT statistics (ELO, level, matches, per-map results), fetched from FACEIT.
- Team life: your team memberships and roles, events, attendance answers, tasks, the team activity log, and the email addresses a manager enters to invite someone.
- Demos uploaded by your team: they contain the in-game names and Steam identifiers of every player in the match, including opponents.
- Recruitment: your free agent settings, and the players a manager or coach adds to their watchlist.
- Technical data: your IP address, in the server logs and to limit repeated attempts (sign-in, sign-up, password reset), a private token for your calendar feed, and your dashboard layout.
We never ask for sensitive data (health, opinions, religion…) and never buy data from anyone.
3. Why, and on what legal basis
- Running the service you signed up for (account, team, schedule, free agent search, demo review, emails about your events and tasks): performance of a contract, GDPR art. 6(1)(b).
- Showing optional profile fields publicly: your consent, art. 6(1)(a). You give it by filling the field in, and withdraw it by emptying it.
- Keeping the service secure (rate limits, server logs, error reports, checking passwords against known breaches): our legitimate interest, art. 6(1)(f).
- Invitation emails and opponents in demos, people who may not have an account: legitimate interest of the team, art. 6(1)(f). The data is only visible to the team that entered it.
Emails about your account (confirmation, password reset) are always sent. Notification emails (event invitations and reminders, task updates) can be turned off in your settings, or with the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each of them.
We do not sell your data, show ads, use analytics trackers or send newsletters. No decision producing legal effects is taken automatically: ratings and statistics are computed for display only.
4. Who can see it
- Everyone, without an account: your public profile (nickname, name, age, country, photo, bio, social links, roles, ESEA experience, availability, Discord link, FACEIT statistics and current team) and your team's page with its official matches. Leave a field empty if you do not want it shown; your current team can be hidden.
- Managers and coaches only: whether you are open to offers as a free agent, and their own watchlist.
- Your team only: practices, sessions, attendance answers, tasks, demos and the activity log.
- Nobody: your email address, your birthdate and your calendar token.
5. Services involved
- OVHcloud (France): hosting, database and sending emails.
- Sentry (EU region, Germany): error reports. They exclude your IP address and request content, and secret links are masked before sending.
- FACEIT: your FACEIT statistics are requested with your FACEIT identifier, through a relay hosted by Cloudflare.
- FACEIT, Steam, Discord: only when you link an account, to confirm it is yours.
- Have I Been Pwned: when you choose a password, the first five characters of its fingerprint (never the password) are checked against known breaches.
- Google Fonts and flagcdn.com: fonts and country flags are loaded by your browser from these services, which therefore see your IP address.
Some of these companies are based outside the European Union, mainly in the United States. Those transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
6. Cookies
Only the cookies the site needs to work: your session, a security token for forms, and, if you tick “Keep me signed in”, a sign-in cookie valid 30 days. No advertising or analytics cookies, hence no consent banner.
7. How long
- Account and profile: until you delete your account (Settings, Delete account). Deletion is immediate and takes your memberships, attendance answers, free agent profile, FACEIT statistics and watchlist entries with it.
- Demos stay with the team after you leave, without your name as uploader. The raw demo file is deleted as soon as it has been processed.
- Activity log: past entries keep your nickname (“… joined the team”) as long as the team exists.
- Invitations: until the team revokes them or deletes the team.
- Password reset links: 1 hour.
- Server logs and error reports: up to 90 days.
- Backups: 14 days, then overwritten.
8. Security
Encrypted connection (HTTPS) everywhere, hashed passwords, limits on repeated attempts, access to team data checked on the server for every request, daily backups. If a breach puts your data at risk, we will notify the CNIL within 72 hours and tell you directly when the risk is high.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, you have the right to:
- access your data and correct it;
- erase it, and restrict or object to its processing;
- receive it in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time;
- give instructions on what happens to your data after your death.
Most of this is self-service in your settings. For the rest, write to contact@ezteam.gg: we answer within one month. If you think your rights are not respected, you can file a complaint with the CNIL.
10. Minors
Players under 15 need the agreement of a parent or legal guardian to create an account. A parent can ask for a child's account to be deleted at the contact address above.
11. Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will tell you by email or on the site before it applies. The date below shows the latest version.
